Recently, the 2023 China World Heritage Tourism Promotion Alliance Conference was held in Anyang City, Henan Province, at which 10 cross-regional theme tourist routes of China world heritage were launched, covering Chinese characters, cultural roots, ancient canals, and the Silk Road.

Among them, the Laosicheng Site in Yongshun County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was selected as part of the “Tusi Site” tour.

The Laosicheng Site is located in Sicheng Village, Lingxi Town, Yongshun County, 19.5 kilometers away from the county seat.

It serves as both a physical representation of the Tusi system and a living example of the development of ancient Chinese regional autonomy. The Laosicheng Site was announced among the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2001 and was included in the first batch of national archaeological site park project list in September 2010.

On July 4, 2015, the Laosicheng Site, along with the Hubei Enshi Tangya Tusi Site and the Guizhou Zunyi Hailongtun Tusi Site, representing “Chinese Tusi Heritage,” was included on the World Cultural Heritage List.

On May 1, 2016, Laosicheng Site was officially opened to the public as a scenic area. In December 2016, Laosicheng Scenic Area was selected as a national 4A tourist attraction.
